Vintage House ATCs

Had lots of fun with these. I admit I normally steer clear of paints .. mess and all ;-) but Rach has sent me a few paints lately so I was keen to see what I could create.

Supplies:
Darkroom Door Background Stamp (Weathered Stripes)
Darkroom Door Photo Stamp (Tree Line)
Darkroom Door Photobooth (Ladies & Hats)
Darkroom Door Wordstrips (Prague Vol2 & Paris Vol2)
Woodchip Houses
Ranger Crackle Accents
Viva Precious Metal (Golden Green & Crimson)
Viva Metal Effect (Gold)
Viva Croco Crackling Colour (Silver)

Technique:
  1. Paint the houses with Green as the base and then add Crimson randomly. Once dry add a large dab of Gold with a sea-sponge and when almost dry, wipe away with a baby wipe. This creates a weathered appearance and allows the base to show through.
  2. Add Croco to random areas of of the house (don't cover it entirely).
  3. Cover Photobooths and Wordstrips with Crackle Accents.
  4. Stamp patterned paper with Weathered Stripes Background Stamp & Tree Lines Photo Stamp in brown ink.

Get Well Soon Baby

Some friends of ours have a young baby who is sick in hospital at the moment so I created this Get Well Soon card for him.

Supplies:
Darkroom Door Background Stamp (Flourish)
Darkroom Door Filmstrips (Hello Baby Vol2)
Darkroom Door Essentials 4 Stamps (All Occasion)

I stamped the Flourish Background Stamp onto white cardstock and inked up the edges using the Ranger Ink Blending Tool. The remainder of the project is lots of mounting onto different coloured cardstock and then finished off with some blue ribbon and a ribbon charm.

Darkroom Door Ticket Booklet

My latest project for Darkroom Door is this little ticket booklet using a little bit of everything from the new release of Background and Photo Stamps.

I've put close up photos, supply list and instructions on my Flickr Gallery. I am getting so much use from the Background Stamps, I love how versatile they are and how they can be used on anything and everything yet create a totally different look every time. The tickets are Tim Holtz Journaling Tickets and measures 3"x2".

New Blog

Finally ... I've decided to take the plunge and create my own blog about my passion for stamping and papercraft. I love to create Artist Trading Cards, Inchies, Mini Books, Greeting Cards and other odds and ends! The styles I mostly stick to are Vintage, Arty and Collage but I often step outside my comfort zone! I'll be sharing bits and pieces of what I create as a Creative Team Member for Darkroom Door aswell as other products I use, resources and techniques I find, favourite links and more! Anything really that relates to papercraft!

I'll start with an oldie but one of my favourites. I love to recycle things for craft and so for this set of 9 ATC's I used only a magazine (Aussie Shop til you Drop is great for ATCs), white card, scissors, paper trimmer and glue.

Advertisements are full of colour which make great backgrounds for the ATCs as do wads of text. Here I positioned backgrounds sideways or upside down to creative visual interest and created layers by using multiple feature images. I love making Magazine ATCs because you can create while watching TV, need minimal supplies or brain power! It's also great if you've lost your mojo or just want to dabble in collage without getting bogged down with techniques and supplies!
